Screen and children, nowadays especially in a lockdown is every door issue. We don't want to live with screen and even can't run away from the screen. This addiction, yes we can say its an addiction of screen can take us and our children to the world of big health complication. Not only physical like headache, eyes strain, spine problem, obesity. But endless physiological issues like isolation, social issues. Social distancing is nowadays should be followed everywhere to stay safe. This will prone to more social complication among children.

Vacation time normally is a time when children enjoy and grow more in terms of fun, knowledge. Their brain sometimes gets that full oxygen as they feel light without carrying the burden of exams and marks.

But Lockdown and corona have completely overpowered the whole world life graph. Parents are at home with children on vacation full day. But where not with them in their gadgets, which they keep glued everywhere. This trend is followed by their children. As gadgets are the only source of entertainment. Sometimes parents are working, or sometimes doing household chores so to engage children they give them the power to conquer the world of knowledge.

You can say children are actually locked with their parent's gadgets at home. Quite surprisingly they sleep, eat and play with screen. You can say from toddler to young generation all age group life is dependant on this omnipotent screen.

In the old days, when there was no light, no phone, no other gadgets, how people used to spend time.

Why the screen time is bad?

Screen time is very bad for children , its not a secret.Its bad due to following 5 ways:--

  • Behavioural Problems-Researchers claim that kids who watch screen (T.V/computer) more than 2 hours per day shows various social , emotional and attention problems.

  • Sleep Problems- Nowdays every home ,switch off the day by just shutting screen. Some watch T.V on bed before sleep,some enjoy web series on the Android phone .This scenario kids replicate by watching T.V or using phone as their last chore. All this backfire.The light emitted from screen interfere s with sleep cycle in the brain and thus cause sleep problems.

  • Attention Problems-Children are the raw mould, whatever they see and feel embed in their lifestyle. Too much screen make kids inattentive. Even research found by age 5,  children who spent 2 hours or more per day looking at a screen is more likely to diagnosis with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or shortly called ADHD. This problem makes kids difficult in school activities, studies even not able to be attentive during mealtime. So may lead to fussy eaters.
